Wednesday 3rd June

Good morning everybody!

We hope you are enjoying our learning about families this week! Remember when you have completed any of your work, please email it to us. Here are our email addresses below:

Enjoy!

From Miss Harcourt and Mrs Walters 😊

English:

Write all about someone you know:

Today we are going to write a ‘biography’ about someone you know. It can be a friend or a family member. You need to pick someone that you know lots about. Maybe a grandparent would be quite interesting!

Click on the link below to read the biography about Queen Elizabeth II.

As you read it, think about the style of writing.

https://www.ducksters.com/biography/women_leaders/queen_elizabeth_2.php

Sections to write about:

  • Basic information (date of birth, age, full name, etc)
  • Job – what they do, and an explanation.
  • Best memories/life experiences
  • Describe how you know them or how you met

Maths:

Today you are going to continue working on place value but we are focusing on negative numbers.

Have a think about this to get your brain thinking:

(See Power up below)

Now watch the video clip on this link to remind yourself about negative numbers.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zjbk8xs

Now you have 4 tasks to do on negative numbers. (Negative numbers worksheet below)

Finally here is a bit of a challenge for you. (Challenge question)

Now complete your propeller board  using the numbers Side A 30-90 : 31

                                                                                            Side B 10-90 : 11

Also remember to keep practising your times tables on TTRS.

Topic:

This afternoon we are going to look at a very famous family tree… The Royal Family!

How does the monarchy work? Why is Queen Elizabeth II the queen now? Who came before her? Who came before them? And who will be our next King or Queen? Let’s find out!

Have a look at the image of the Royal Family tree below. That shows you’re the past 4 kings/queens. Can you find out who came before them?
