Friday 27.3.20

Happy Friday Woodpeckers!

What a strange first week of school not seeing any of you. It has been really wonderful getting to hear from some of you by emails. But I haven’t heard from everyone yet, so, if you have people on X-Box or Playstation, or you see anyone – make sure you ask them if they have emailed Mr Bashford yet, and try and do this every day.

I will be on holiday for a week now, but I will still make sure there are some Easter activities for you to do on our class page next week (but it will be a bit more fun and less ‘worky’!)

You can still send me emails and tell me about your holidays and what you get up to each day. You can practise your letter writing to me if you like! Remember – range how you start your sentences! (Today, I…  My favourite part was… It was really funny when… After dinner, we… Tomorrow, I would like to… Finally, …)

‘Dear Mr Bashford…’

Then send them to me at…

woodpeckers@knowle-plymouth.co.uk

I will make sure I reply to every one I get!

Take care,

Mr B ðŸ˜Š

Friday 27th March

English:

Write your final piece. Persuade people to come and visit where you live – Plymouth! Why is it the best place ever?!

Use the final writing piece lined-paper in your home packs.

Remember – best handwriting, check punctuation, be careful with spelling. Have fun writing it! Take a photo and send them to me when you are done. If you like, and you have a laptop or computer, you could type them instead!

Maths:

Money: Here are a range of videos that will explain how you can make different amounts using money.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zp8dmp3/resources/1

Now you are going to be solving money word problems. You can do any working out in your maths book before answering each quiz question. There are four different levels that you can choose from.

Topic:

Over your 2 weeks of Easter Holidays, we would love for you to get out and about and have the best time! All of these activities are away from lots of people so they will be good exercise and let you get lots of fresh air! How many can you do this holiday? Keep a list and let us know how you get on!

(Still make sure you are safe and careful about not going into crowded areas, so stay with your adult – and definitely wash your hands!)

https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/features/50-things-to-do-before-youre-11--activity-list

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record.

As some extra reading, here is a GREAT website where you can read comic books online for free! Spiderman, Batman, Supergirl, Batgirl, The Flash, Black Panther… Check with your parents first. Enjoy!

Spellings:

Please practise your spellings daily. These lists are on our class page. You can practise the Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and the Year 5/6 spelling lists. You all know which spellings you should be practising anyway.
