Year 1/2 Nurture Class: Owens

Welcome to Owens class!

Welcome to the Jessie Owens class!

This year we have named our classes based on inspirational people from around the world and throughout history.

My name is Miss Clark and I am thrilled to be the Nurture class teacher alongside Mr Greenslade who will be taking us for Forest Schools every afternoon and all day on a Friday.  We also have Mrs Westmore working with us everyday as our teaching assistant!

Our topics this year are:

  • Autumn - Ourselves and our family history
  • Spring - Explorers
  • Summer 1 - Coast/Dartmoor
  • Summer 2 - Hot and cold countries

I love to build a relationship with all children and their families and enjoy having that link, so please feel free to contact me whenever you need to and I will always do my best to help however I can. Use the email below:

We all cannot wait to for the amazing year we have ahead of us!

Home Learning

Due to restrictions with COVID-19, we are trying to keep home learning as virtual and contained as possible. I am always available to speak to at the door in the mornings or via my class email above as home/ school books are currently not allowed.

Below you will find some very useful documents.

1. Spelling lists for Year 1/2. Children need to know and work on these spellings dependent on their ability.

2. Times Tables: I have attached a document that has all times tables that children in class need to know and practise.

3. Reading - I have attached some reading guidance on types of questions and conversations that would be really helpful for you to do with your child at home. The more they read, the better they are at reading!

4. Fun things to do to keep you all entertained but still learning in these crazy times.
