Our Classes are named after inspirational people from around the world and throughout history. Our inspirational person is Mahatma Gandhi and the children have already been learning lots of things about his amazing life. We are a Year 2 class and the children are encouraged work hard, celebrate their successes and achieve the very best that they can!
Helping the children with their learning this year is Mrs McGuire (Class Teacher) and we also have help from our wonderful Teaching Assistants, Miss Trapnell (Monday - Wednesday) and Miss Terrie.
Our three topics this year are:
- Autumn – Changes over time
- Spring – The Great Fire of London
- Summer- TBC
Year Two homework will be given out every Friday and will consist of:
Children should bring in their reading records every day and are encouraged to read every night at home. Please do encourage your child to read at home, it'll only take 5 to 10 minutes and makes a tremendous difference to their confidence and attainment in class! The reading book you receive will be in line with your child's reading ability. The children are assessed regularly and book levels are set accordingly. Books will be changed when the reading record has been signed by an adult at home.
Please note that we have PE every Wednesday, so please remember to dress your child in their PE kit on this day. Please ensure your child has their coloured PE top, PE hoodie, black bottoms, hair tied up and jewellery removed on these days so that they are ready and safe to take part.
As most of you know already, we love to have great links and relationships with all the children and their families, so please feel free to contact us whenever you need to and we will always help however we can. Use the email address below:
