This year we have named our classes after inspirational people and our class is named after Mahatma Gandhi, who used nonviolent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India’s independence from British rule. We have two Teaching Assistants, Miss Fancovicova and Miss Shaw, who will also support the children in our class. Our PE day is on Tuesday, so please make sure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit.
This is an important year for our children, as they move on to KS2, where they will begin to develop as independent learners.
Every Friday the children will bring home their weekly homework of spellings, Times Tables Travels sheets and topic work. Spelling sheets and Times tables Travels sheets do not need to be returned to school and should be used to support daily learning at home. However, we do look forward to seeing and sharing the children’s weekly topic homework. Please support your children in learning their spellings and Times Tables Travels, ready to be tested on Friday. Additionally, children will bring home a reading book and should read for at least 10 minutes every day.
Our topic for the Summer Term is Mountains, Earthquakes and Volcanos, which will lead to some very exciting learning.
