Welcome to Goodall Class!
We are named after the inspirational scientist Dr. Jane Goodall, who has dedicated her life to animal conservation, and in particular the plight of chimpanzees.
I am Ms Edwards, Goodall class teacher, and I will be teaching your children from Monday to Thursday. On Friday Mr Greenslade will teach the class, which will include a Forest School session in the afternoon. We are supported by Mrs Shields, our enthusiastic TA. This term, on Thursday and Friday, we have two students in our class.
Mr Blacker will teach the children P.E. on Monday and as usual the children will need to come to school in their P.E. kits.
Weekly homework will include spellings to learn and a Times Tables Travels sheet. Spellings will be sent home on Friday and Times Tables Travels sheets will come home on Thursday. It would be great if children could practise their spellings and times tables travels throughout the week. If you can ask your children to spell words or recall tables – that would help! Spelling tests are on Friday and Times Tables Travels tests are on Wednesday. Children will also have a library book to read at home. It would be great if you could encourage your children to read and listen to them read regularly, as well as completing their reading diary.
Our topics this year are:
Autumn - The Stone Age to the Iron Age
Spring - The Romans
Summer - Mountains, Earthquakes and Volcanoes
Please remember, if you have any concerns or questions, we are always happy to talk to you at the end of the school day. You can also call or contact us on our class email address:
