Year 4: Frank

Welcome to Frank Class!

Like last year we have named our classes based on inspirational people from around the world and from throughout history. Ours is named after Anne Frank as she was so courageous and has so many qualities we can learn from. We are a straight year 4 class and children are encouraged to believe in themselves and strive to achieve the best they can.

Myself, Mrs Powell, is the class teacher and we have two wonderful teaching assistants who will be supporting your children throughout the course of the week. We are very fortunate to have the lovely Miss Shaw with us everyday and the lovely Miss Waugh on Wednesdays.

Our three topics this year are:

- Autumn - Vikings and Anglo-Saxons

- Spring - Ancient Greeks

- Summer- Where is the Water?

As most of you know already, we love to have great links and relationships with all the children and their families, so please feel free to contact us whenever you need to and we will always help however we can. Use the email address below:

I can't wait to have a fantastic year together!!

Mrs Powell

Anne Frank was an ordinary girl who lived during WW2. She was from a Jewish family and as Hitler rose to power she went into hiding with her family so that they weren't taking into a concentration camp. She wrote a beautiful diary keeping track of all of her thoughts and feelings during this time and was such a courageous, brave and kind young lady. Anne and her family were eventually discovered and sadly only her father Otto survived the war. He discovered her diary and published it to achieve her dream of becoming an author.

They hid in a  secret annexe hidden behind a bookshelf in the offices where her father worked. If you would like to explore where they hid have a look at this website it is absolutely fab and so interesting!
