Year 5: Senna

Welcome to Senna Class!

This year we have named our classes based on inspirational people from around the world and from throughout history. We are a straight Year 5 class this year and children are encouraged to reach for the stars and to strive and achieve the best that they can!

Mr Bemister will be teaching the class for the majority of the week. On a Thursday we will have P.E with Mr Blacker and on a Friday afternoon, Mr Greenslade will be teaching the class. Our class Teaching Assistant who will be working with us this year is Miss Jones.

Our three topics this year are:

- Autumn - The Victorians

- Spring - Islamic Civilisation

- Summer- TBC

As most of you know already, we love to have great links and relationships with all the children and their families, so please feel free to contact us whenever you need to and we will always help however we can. Use the email address below:

Mr Bemister and Miss Jones

Ayrton Senna da Silva was a Brazilian racing driver who is often said to be the greatest driver of all time. He was born in Sao Paolo Brazil and moved to England to race when he was a young man. His determination, courage and strength of character are the reasons why we look up to him. Despite being doubted by many people, he always remained focused on his goal to be the best he could be. He was not afraid to make mistakes, but would always learn from them. He would not ever be satisfied with anything other than his best.

Sadly, Ayrton was killed in a racing accident in 1994 in San Marino whilst he was at his peak. We remember him by naming his class after him and using a quote of his as inspiration:

Be yourself, learn from your mistakes, and be the best you that you can be.
