After school on Friday 26th November, Mr Young took the sport leaders from Year 5 and 6 to do the next part of their training. They were given a timetable to show where and when they will be leading activities and they learned how to play six different games.

At break time, they will be supporting with the personal best challenge and at lunch time they will be leading a game of their choice.

This will give the children a great opportunity to demonstrate their leadership and communication skills.

Below you will find explanations of the six games that the children  tonight.

On Friday 15th October 2021 after school, 19 children from Year 5 and 6 took part in sport leader training with Howard from PSSP. The children looked at the qualities and skills of a good leader and the types of behavior that a good leader would avoid. They were then taught some games and Howard provided the children with some top tips to lead the games effectively. Howard gave the children some homework at the end of the session; in the next few weeks they will lead their own game of tag in a PE lesson or at lunch time. Before Christmas, Mr Young will see how the children got on and then they will take part in their next group session where they will consolidate what they have learned.
