Home Learning
In the Early Years setting, we encourage Parents/Carers to contribute to their child’s Learning Journey. To do this, we encourage Parents and Carers to add family learning moments to their child’s online learning journey, via Tapestry. An achievement could be tying their shoe for the first time, writing their name independently, baking a cake or anything else the parent wishes to add to their child's learning journal. Afterwards it is included in the child’s learning journey and celebrated with their peers in the classroom.
Each week your child will be given a learning activity to complete at home along with a weekly Makaton sign to practice. This will help to reinforce the learning they have been doing in school and will be used as evidence in their learning journey. We also join in with whole school topic activities. There is a family activity per week linked to a topic e.g. if the topic is Egypt the challenge might be to build a pyramid as a family.
When joining with us we will give you a pack of resources to help your child with their learning at home.
Please support your child to read with you at home at least three times a week.
