Year 5/6 boys football

On Monday 28th November 2022, our Year 5/6 football team played in the finals of the Manadon cluster leagues which they qualified for a few weeks ago. We knew it would be tougher this time as we were facing all the other schools that also qualified from the first round.

The boys played 8 games and every one was very competitive and close throughout. They finished a respectable 5th out of 9 schools and the scores can be found below.

The winning school were also presented with a trophy by Plymouth Argyle players Mike Cooper and Adam Randell. We couldn't miss the opportunity to have a photo with them before we went!

1-0 win against Bickleigh B
1-0 win against Manadon Vale
1-0 win against Horrabridge
0-0 draw against Pomphlett
1-1 draw against Mary Deans
2-0 defeat against Bickleigh A
1-0 defeat against Woodford
1-0 defeat against Montpelier

On Monday 7th November, our Year 5/6 boys football team represented Knowle at a cluster league event at the Manadon Hub.

The boys were fantastic and gave it their all in every game. They won 4 games and lost just 1. The results for each game can be found below:

Knowle 5-0 Widey
Knowle 0-2 Montpelier
Knowle 2-1 Horrabridge A
Knowle 3-0 Shakespeare
Knowle 5-0 Horrabridge B

The boys finished 2nd overall and they have qualified for the next round.

A fantastic achievement and the boys can't wait for the next round of games where they will face even tougher competition!
